Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbours; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

What can you do as a church?

Pray for this ministry and the people we serve.

Spread the word. Let your church leadership and others in your congregation know about what is being done here.

Sponsor this ministry along with shelters, soup kitchens, or food pantries your church groups may be involved with.

Become advocates for the poor. Organize letter writing campaigns to your legistators. Ask them to support legislation that ensures a living wage, affordable housing, affordable daycare, affordable healthcare. The League of Women Voters is an excellent source of information for contacting your local and national legislators.
